PRIDE MATTERS BECAUSE YOU MATTER

Together, we stand for diversity, respect and a sense of community where everyone is welcome.
Pride Month reminds us of the importance of visibility, acceptance and equality – today and every day. Here at Le Crobag, we also want to use this month to reflect on how we can be more diverse and inclusive.

Sometimes it’s the little things that make a big difference.

WHAT IS PRIDE MONTH?

Pride Month takes place every year in June. It aims to highlight the ongoing discrimination and oppression faced by the LGBTQIA*+ community. Together, we aim to raise awareness of the rights that the community does not yet have. It has its origins in the protests surrounding the Stonewall Inn in New York in 1969 – a significant turning point in the fight for equality.

Today, Pride is a symbol of diversity, love and the freedom to express oneself and one’s individuality.

International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT))
For many, the Pride period begins as early as 17 May with the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT).
Dieser Tag leitet für viele – auch für uns – den Pride Month ein. Gleichzeitig ist er oft noch zu wenig sichtbar und findet in der öffentlichen Wahrnehmung nicht die Aufmerksamkeit, die er verdient.

WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT

Diversity makes our society stronger.
Yet many people still experience exclusion or discrimination because of their identity.

Pride Month is therefore more than just an event – it serves as a reminder:

• standing up for one another,
• respecting differences and recognising them as a source of strength and enrichment,
• and actively embracing diversity
